Hutch told me what happened, back in that police garage. It seems like a long time ago, but in my nightmares, it’s always right now.
They let me go home and I see a therapist three times a week. Hutch moved in with me, to help. He’s riding a desk at work because he won’t take another partner, and I won’t be ready for a long time yet.
I told him to get another partner; it’s okay.
Wish he’d let me take care of him like he’s taking care of me.
I dream about him sometimes.
